[Next cardioversion or RF ablation in professional driver with recurrent typical atrial flutter and MAS syndromes].

چکیده
We describe a 42-year-old professional driver with hypertension, obesity and recurrent episodes of highly symptomatic typical atrial flutter. Despite chronic sotalol treatment, 1:1 AV conduction with RBBB-morphology was observed. After excluding of thrombus in the heart chambers, the 'urgent' and successful RF ablation was performed.

Successful Radiofrequency Ablation of Atrial Flutter Causing Hemodynamic Instability in a Patient with Recent Myocardial Infarction
Atrial flutter (AFL) is a common arrhythmia which may decrease cardiac output and may cause embolic events. Direct current (DC) cardioversion, medical cardioversion and radiofrequency (RF) ablation are therapeutic options, but over all RF ablation therapy has the longest event free period. Although development of AFL after myocardial infarction is quite common it may spontaneously recover or re...

I read with interest the article by David et al. regarding a case of recurrent tachycardia-induced cardiomyopathy secondary to typical atrial flutter. I have some concerns regarding the management of the recurrences of atrial flutter and tachycardiainduced cardiomyopathy in this case. The authors’ choice of treatment involved DC cardioversion of the atrial flutter that was successful in restori...

Forty-four-year-old male patient with surgical closure of ostium secundum type atrial septal defect at the age of 9 years had undergone radiofrequency catheter ablation of the cavotricuspid isthmus because of recurrent drug-resistant typical isthmus-dependent atrial flutter, with bidirectional isthmus block achieved. Only few days later he started to suffer again high-rate tachycardia. An atypi...
متن کاملTime to cardioversion of recurrent atrial arrhythmias after catheter ablation of atrial fibrillation and long-term clinical outcome.
INTRODUCTION It is unclear whether early restoration of sinus rhythm in patients with persistent atrial arrhythmias after catheter ablation of atrial fibrillation (AF) facilitates reverse atrial remodeling and promotes long-term maintenance of sinus rhythm. The purpose of this study was to determine the relationship between the time to restoration of sinus rhythm after a recurrence of an atrial...

OBJECTIVE To assess the changes in quality of life, arrhythmia symptoms, and hospital resource utilisation following catheter ablation of typical atrial flutter. DESIGN Patient questionnaire to compare the time interval following ablation with a similar time interval before ablation. SETTING Tertiary referral centre. PATIENTS 63 consecutive patients were studied. Four patients subsequentl...
